Long weekend, guys. Last night I drank to get drunk for the first time in a pretty long time. My hangover this morning was so bad I ate a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on my way into work, then when I got there I made my co-worker run to the coffeeshop nearby and buy me a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. You guys, I had a two-breakfast-sandwich hangover this morning. I’m not going to lie, the eight months of sobriety that will be required when I’m training to run two marathons and three half-marathons will be a very welcome respite from my burgeoning alcohol problem.
I guess what this means is that between now and August 1st I have to get the partying thing out of my system so that I won’t miss it when I’m training. This morning’s hangover would ordinarily be enough for me to tell myself that I shouldn’t drink for a few weeks, so maybe if I do that two or three more times in the next 15 days I won’t miss it at all when I begin my mandatory self-imposed dry spell.

RULES for uninitiated noobs: I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. No real theme this week. I tried to compile a good mix of different stuff with some songwriters mixed with weird noise and ambient and rock. Hopefully it doesn’t suck too much.The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
