In honor of my going to Vegas for the next few days, I figured I’d share a fun little compilation whose title mimics how I’ll be spending the next 72 hours or so. Via the sadly defunct Imaginary Landscapes blog:
“Best Garage comp I have heard in the last few months. Bunch of mid-western boy-man bands with severe inclinations to get rowdy! So easy to enjoy, so impossible to replicate.”
This is a reissue of a compilation featuring Missouri garage bands, which was originally subtitled: “Midwest Teen Band Frat And Garage Stompers 1961-1966!!”. The US issue includes an 8 page booklet loaded with info on the bands.
So enjoy. Crank up the volume and do as you’re told: Drink beer, yell, and dance. Those are your instructions.
I’ll try to post some photos or video or weird stories from the road tomorrow and Thursday if time/hangover allows.
