After a nice dinner last night at the new Michaelangelo’s location in Silver Lake last night, I realized that I didn’t have enough time to compile a mix tape and put together the White Hills review. White Hills gets preferential treatment over mix tapes, so that’s why I’m posting the mix now, on Monday. I hope you won’t mind the tardiness, I think this one’s pretty far out there…
RULES for uninitiated noobs: With roughly 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. This week combines some very pretty songs with some rather ugly ones. Plus, some guy came into the store yesterday and we were talking about The Residents, and he said, “Have you gone through your Snakefinger phase yet?” and I said, “Snakefinger?” So he thrust the Spot 7″ in my face and said, “You’ll thank me later.” Holy fuck! As always, these songs will be removed if desired by the band or those who represent them. Let me know and I will gladly comply. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
