My good friend Mike wanted me to share the ten weirdest beers I had this year, so I’ll quickly do that before I write another paragraph and call it quits for the day. It’s not so much that the styles are so unusual, but it’s pretty hard to find some of these where I live, so I’d consider them weird. Blue Point Oatmeal Stout Dogfish Head Aprihop, Flying Dog Road Dog Scottish Porter, Goose Island Honkers Ale, Leinenkugels Honey Weiss Bier, Rogue Brutal Bitter, Rogue Hop Heaven, Sweetwater Blue, Terrapin Rye Pale Ale, Thirsty Dog Old Leghumper. I wouldn’t say they all taste good, but I’ll try just about anything. Out of all of those, Thirsty Dog was the best, and the Oatmeal Stout was second.
Today was the Christmas party at work, all the kids who work there were there, along with some of the older folks and some regular customers. It was nice. Once all the old folks left we hooked up Andley’s XBox 360 and played some car racing game and a basketball game. I pretty much sucked at everything. I don’t like that controller very much. Also, I’m not very good at video games unless there is baseball or sex involved (see: MVP Baseball or Virtual Vixens).
After that I picked up Dan and we drove down Route 22 looking for a drum kit to buy for my makeshift studio (if you can even call it that) Studio Evan Studios 1. There was a pretty nice five-piece kit for $375 but with heads in need of replacement, no kick pedal and no hardware/stands, it would have been a bad purchase. I’ll just scour the Internets for a good deal, and one will surely arise in time. Let’s hope I don’t spend the whole $730 I got for my old guitar on booze or vinyl first…
