I anticipated a few new blog posts as I was relegated to my couch for 48 hours this weekend while I worked an event remotely. Alas, fate conspired to crush my dreams. The weird private-press folk record I found recently with the “slight warp not affecting play” turned out to be more warped than I thought. It had a pretty severe warble to it that ruined the sound. Oh well! I also had those two weird flexi-discs that came out of ’70s porno mags I could have shared, but they wouldn’t spin right on my USB turntable because there wasn’t enough pressure to keep the playing surface flat against the platter. 0/2, I decided to give up on supplying you with weird collector scum goodies and instead watched a bunch of movies to pass the time while I worked. I also broke in my slow cooker and made some sweet pulled chicken tacos. But what the fuck do you care about tacos?
My sister is coming back to town for Labor Day weekend so I should have plenty of photos and adventures to update you on until then. I’ve got a Two:Dot record to share as well, I’ll try to post it tomorrow because I have plans Wednesday and Thursday nights after work. Wish me luck. It’s a good one with a funny story connected to it. I’d say “stay tuned” but you won’t.
Instead, here’s some goodies I’ve been listening to lately. Dive in at your peril.
