SUNDAY MIXTAPE – NUMBER 107

What is there to do on a Sunday? I get home from work (after putting in almost two hours of overtime) and everyone’s gone to Sunset Junction to hear shitty bands and eat/drink price-gouged food/drinks. It’s dead quiet in the apartment, there’s no furniture or anything here since the old roommates moved out, and I’m contemplating laying on the floor and closing my eyes for a while. Unfortunately, the weird bug bites on my ankles make it so I’m not interested in putting my face anywhere near the carpets, at least not until we’re certain there isn’t anything living and breeding in them. Fucking gross.

I’m sorry tomorrow is Monday. I cannot do anything to make your night more pleasant, but I can provide you with some songs you might not have heard before. Who knows, maybe you’ll feel inspired by something new. Maybe you’ll remember something old. Maybe you’ll even say, “This sucks!” and move onto the next blog.

RULES for uninitiated noobs: With 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. This week, we’re exploring people, places and the ways in which they tug at us and force us into a perpetual state of emotional and physical flux. Constantly meeting new people and going new places. Ever get the feeling you just want to stay in one place but you can’t? Ever get the feeling you don’t want to stay in one place but you have to? That’s this week’s mix tape. As always, these songs will be removed if desired by the band or those who represent them. Let me know and I will gladly comply. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
