Sunday Mix Tape Number 341

After feeling under the weather for almost 3 weeks, I finally felt up to going out and socializing last night. I even imbibed! Yup, it was a good night. Of course, Blue Palms ran out of the one beer everyone at the table wanted to try (something that was aged in red wine barrels, I don’t recall what), but the night wasn’t a total waste. Speakeasy Black Hand, Lost Abbey Merry Taj, Strand Batch 100 on cask, and a fucking cider aged in bourbon barrels (The Mitten by Virtue) were consumed. Yeah, I know, I felt really dumb ordering a cider too. But the two servers I spoke to during the process of finding the courage to order a cider both vouched for it, and it turned out to be pretty good! Although one person did incredibly point out that the aroma was “just like one of those paint markers you sniff to get high.” Eerily accurate description.

Todd updates. I’m shipping some records to Japan tomorrow, a chain out of Kyoto wanted to stock their stores. That’s pretty exciting for me. I saw one place called Obscuro — which might just be a mail-order business — has it in stock also. I sent some copies home with the Disk Union guys last time I saw them, but I won’t know whether they dug it or not until they stop in the store again.

Light In The Attic still has copies of the black vinyl edition for sale, and hopefully they’ll sell through the second batch of records I sent them as quickly as they did the first batch. Remember, the only way to get the limited edition clear vinyl is through me, either via Swan Fungus Records, Discogs, or eBay.

If you don’t care about clear vinyl, I’ve black vinyl copies as well. You can buy those via Bandcamp. 10 of the black vinyl copies have hand-written and signed notes from Todd tucked inside! At this point I have no idea where those copies are, or if they’ve already been sold. If you got one, by all means let me know. There have been a couple more digital and physical sales through the Swan Fungus Bandcamp page as well, which is nice to see. If you haven’t already, you should pick up a copy of the record. Support Todd, support this website, and grab a unique (and limited!) “real people” / “vanity” music artifact at the same time. Don’t have a turntable? The digital release is just $4. That’s, like, 50 cents per song. You can afford it, trust me.

Now how about a mix tape?
