Ah, Sunday. One of my least favorite days of the week. Why, you ask? Well, not only because I have to work every Sunday from now until I get my life together and find a real job, but also because no one else I know works on Sundays, and the prospect of returning to work on Monday casts a depressing pall over the world.
Luckily, there’s a mix tape for you all to enjoy!
Have you guys seen the video of the kid who came within one second of setting a new American record for the fastest mile? It’s pretty impressive. Even in missing the record, the kid (and I call him that even though he’s just three years younger than me) Galen Rupp, finished with the fifth fastest time ever. I think my fastest mile ever was a shade over six minutes. 6:04. Hell, even when I ran this last marathon my average mile most of the way was about 8:15, and my fastest “lap” ever in a marathon (half or full) was 7:24. Then again, those are pace-based races…my fastest mile in a 5K was 6:58… which is still over three minutes slower than Rupp’s almost-record-setting mile. Also my 6:04 was downhill. So basically I suck at running.
