I just finished taking in Zero Dark Thirty (having friends in the biz means free screeners!) and, I have to say, that redhead sure is cute! I also have to say, if the stuff about her character being recruited by the CIA out of high school is true…how come nobody asked ME to join The Company after I graduated from LHS? Was it because I slacked off in school and smoked a lot of weed? Because if anything that would only provide me with a better, more realistic cover. Who suspects a stoner with a limitless appetite for Entenmann’s soft-baked chocolate chip cookies of being a secret agent? Nobody. That’s who. I’d have been a killer operative. Not literally, of course. You’ve seen how scrawny I am. I had trouble crushing a cricket with the heal of my boot last week.
That said, I’m gonna post this mix tape as quickly as possible and then get some sleep. Last night was a shit-show of the out-on-the-town drinking variety. It made for a very messy morning. I awoke feeling as I’d been hit by a truck, and within four minutes of opening my eyes I was on a video chat with my mom, sister, and cousins in Vermont. My cousin, quite politely, remarked that she thinks FaceTime “makes everyone look bad.” Work was even worse, and of course my day was compounded by having to constantly be interacting with people who were presumably more sober than I was. I think I summed it up pretty well when I told one of my co-workers, “The first three minutes of my day felt like an hour. The next thirty minutes felt like a day. And the next seven-and-a-half hours felt like a month.”
