See, the problem with working Sundays for the past three years is that I’m not too familiar with what’s going on in the National Football League. So when someone offers me the chance to make a couple high-dollar bets with no vig I should know better than to take the offer. Inevitably my three years of not watching a single football game (except for the Super Bowl the Giants won because I called in sick that day) led to a disastrous result. I picked the Chiefs (-5.5) to beat the Bills (THE BILLS!) and they lost 41-7. Ouch. I picked the Falcons (-3) to beat the Bears and they lost 30-12. I picked Pittsburgh (+1) over the Ravens and they lost 35-7. I picked Indianapolis (+10) over Houston and they lost 34-7. And then I picked the Giants (-3) to beat the Redskins and they lost 28-14. To say that I chose poorly would be an understatement. I got fucking murdered. And the worst part was I had to endure all that failure with one of the worst hangovers of my entire life. After today September 11th has a whole new meaning for me.
