Since the first bit of German Shepherds ephemera I shared received such a positive response, I figured I would leave you to ingest this over the weekend. I’m leaving for the next forty-eight hours and won’t be blogging. Here’s hoping that these tunes give you the most unsettling, horrifying nightmares you’ve ever had.
Oh, and for what it’s worth, the guy who gave me this cassette said he knew a girl who dated the guy in German Shepherds who wasn’t the guy who may or may not have killed himself. I asked him whether or not the rumors were true, and he said he wasn’t really certain. He said he was pretty sure it was true just because he remembered reading about it in a lot of different places that seemed legitimate back in the day, but he never even though to ask his friend. As I stated last time, I found several websites proclaiming the legend to be true (recap: they once announced the arrest of a band member on “trumped up child molestation charges” and his suicide as a result of the arrest) and just as many dispelling it as a myth. That said, I told him to contact her and ask what the deal was, so maybe someday I’ll have a definitive answer for you. Ever the skeptic, I’m gonna assume it was disinformation put out by the band. But who the hell knows.
