Ganger – Hammock Style

I think this record is one of the most over-looked Post-Rock records to come out of the ’90s. It was the first full-length recording for the Scottish band, and features lots of angular guitar parts and driving rhythms. They never get as aggressive as Mogwai or as experimental as Tortoise, but similarities can be heard throughout this awesome, underrated album. Recorded in ’98, they were light-years ahead of their time. Energetic, original and groovy as fuck, Hammock Style is one of those little gems I normally would keep secret and horde all for myself, but it really deserves to be heard by as many people as possible.
