RULES for uninitiated noobs: With 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. This week has no theme, but I’m highlighting four or five tracks from a 91-track live HrvÃ¥tski record. Anyway, I chose tracks 5, 15, 35, and 65 because they are 10, 20 and 30 tracks apart from one another, and it seemed like the right thing to do at the time. I thought about making those tracks 1, 7, 14, and 21, but that would have been overkill. I know, I am a giant nerd. Anyway, everything else is just weird shit. The general formula is, freakout, rock song, slow song, ambient song, other song, freakout. It goes like that the whole time. And then the last song is a beautiful new tune from Zelienople, whose new album is definitely going to challenge for best of 2007. These songs will be removed if desired by the band or those who represent them. Let me know and I will gladly comply. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
