Questions and Answers

Last night something unexpected happened to a friend a thousand miles away that made my night a lot less fun than it should have been. I ended up on the phone with various people from about midnight until 3am, so I partook in much less debauchery than I had hoped. I don’t want to get into specifics, because it’s a bit personal (and I don’t want to embarrass anyone), but everything seems to be all right at the moment. I know that’s vague…sorry.

Today I have to go to Williamsburg to meet someone who might want to buy my Twin Reverb at his band’s rehearsal space. Hopefully he’ll take it off my hands and I won’t have to drive around the city all day with it sitting on my back seat. Later, I’ll get to drive back into Manhattan, where I’ll see and talk to Tim Midgett for the first time since last summer, and Jason Molina for the first time since April. I’m doubly excited. I don’t remember the last time there was a show in the city with as good a mainstream-indie lineup as tonight at the Knitting Factory: Shearwater / Bottomless Pit / Magnolia Electric Co..

Speaking of shows. Next month, within ten days of each other at Tonic: Yellow Swans (10/3), LSD March / Bardo Pond (10/12), and Nina Nastasia (10/13). Wow. LSD March. So good.
