Y’all see the State of the Union address last night? My favorite part was when Bush said, “We must also change how we power our automobiles. We will increase our research in better batteries for hybrid and electric cars, and in pollution-free cars that run on hydrogen. We will also fund additional research in cutting-edge methods of producing ethanol, not just from corn but from wood chips, stalks, or switch grass. Our goal is to make this new kind of ethanol practical and competitive within six years. Breakthroughs on this and other new technologies will help us reach another great goal: to replace more than 75 percent of our oil imports from the Middle East by 2025.”

Naturally, when you’re a cultural icon (much like myself) you’re privy to lots of inside info. I actually have in my possession an ORIGINAL document that President Bush himself created that outlines how he’s going to go about leading our country into an era of alternative energy. It’s a little crude, but I think it’s also very self-explanatory.

Got a lot of vinyl today as I went record shopping. My purchases included:

Talking Heads – More Songs About Buildings and Food ($2.99)
Bob Dylan – The Basement Tapes ($11.99)
Miles Davis – Someday My Prince Will Come ($9.99)
The Byrds – (Untitled) ($4.99)
Creedence Clearwater Revival – Willy and the Poorboys (promo!) ($3.99)
Black Sabbath – Vol. 4 ($6.99)
Jimi Hendrix – Axis: Bold as Love ($9.99)
Unwound – some untitled 12″ EP ($5.99)
Gastr del Sol – The Serpentine Similar ($9.99)
Total w/ tax – $67.63

Tomorrow starts a long string of days where I work every day. I’m sorry if I skip an update, I will try not to. God forbid you miss an episode of my boring existence.
