CHICHI

Woke up. Felt slightly chirpy until I realized that I’m [redacted], indie-writing superstar and voice of an entire generation.

Got a bagel and some coffee with Ian and headed for Princeton. It was a pretty incredible haul, sixteen albums for $51. Here’s the rundown for whoever is keeping score at home.

Sonic Youth – Goo
Talk Talk – Laughing Stock
Mudhoney – Superfuzzbigmuff
Neil Young & Crazy Horse – Rust Never Sleeps
Jimi Hendrix – Electric Ladyland (UK!)
Crosby, Stills & Nash – Crosby, Stills & Nash
King Crimson – In the Court of the Crimson King (UK!)
Creedence Clearwater Revival – Bayou Country
Neil Young – Comes A Time
The Byrds – The Byrds
Queen – Jazz
Talking Heads – Fear of Music
Talking Heads – Speaking in Tongues
The Who – Who’s Next
Talking Heads – Remain in Light
Leadbelly – Leadbelly [Everest 1965]

Afterwards we went to pick up Ian’s lady Amanda at the train station, ate some Mongolian barbecue and then went to see “Walk the Line.” I was impressed, which doesn’t happen very often with a Hollywood flick. Then again, I don’t see many of them so it’s hard to be impressed that often. I thought the tunes sounded pretty good (although use of computerized auto-tuning technology might have been used). But yeah, I’d recommend it. Not that you need my permission.

Zlotsky came over and we jammed on some drum/bass songs. I made up some very evil bass lines and he smashed like the hulk, and, fittingly, screamed “Hulk smash!” The whole time. It got annoying after a minute or two. Also, with the exception of the first two sentences, this entire paragraph has been a lie.

Don’t you hate middle class white people? They all speak in the passive voice. So totally boojwa.

The return of Top-Ten Friday is set for next week. Maybe on Friday?
