Sitting in a parked car with Nicci, listening to songs that she likes for a change, I had an idea. Why doesn’t she curate her own Sunday Mix Tape? Opportunities to see her geek out about music are few and far between because I’m always hogging the car radio or record player or computer speakers or iPod. It was nice to see her listen to music she loves, even if it’s not necessarily what I would choose to listen to. So I asked if she wanted to choose some songs for a mix tape, and she mentioned that she had just made herself a new mix last week, which she’d titled “Don’t Listen”. I said that was perfect, and asked if I could borrow it for the blog.
RULES for uninitiated noobs: I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks.I just told you this week’s theme. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
