Even though my last day of work concluded on Tuesday, March 17th…for some reason today felt like my first real day off. Maybe because it has something to do with it being Monday. Either way, I awoke at 9 am this morning with pretty much nothing to look forward to. Breakfast was a simple toast with butter and jelly, and yogurt with granola. Two cups of coffee. For the next 3-4 hours I caught up on the news (the good news, not the bad news) and chatted online with friends and family. Lunch was the last of the pasta and bolognese I made for dinner a few nights ago. After lunch, we went on a 30-minute walk around the neighborhood. There were maybe 5-10 others out and about on the sidewalks, but everyone kept their distance or switched sides of the street when possible. It felt good to use my legs, which even after four days feel like they’re atrophying. When I stand up from the kitchen table (my desk, for now) to refill my water glass or take a leak, sometimes I worry my legs are going to fall off from lack of use.
Other than that I don’t have much to report today. I think dinner is going to be on the light side tonight. Nothing new or inventive. Tomorrow I’m going to try my hand at eggplant parm for the first time in over a decade. I’m sure the results will be disastrous, so I will definitely be posting a picture of the finished product. Oh, and I have to catch up on some TV shows. Fun times in Los Angeles. No wonder drones are capturing footage like this around town.

And while this isn’t going to be a 15-song, fully-themed mixtape in the Swan Fungus tradition, I found ten songs that I think are linked — at least in terms of their titles — so why not share them? As I get re-accustomed to the norms of daily blogging I’ll adjust my methods.
