His team has been projected by pretty much every journalist covering the sport to win the World Series this year. Good luck, buddy! If the Mets don’t win it all this year, I hope it’s the team you support. It’d be fun to see another Mets/Cubs NLCS matchup this year. Hey, maybe it won’t be a sweep this year and the Cubs will make the series more competitive…

Considering how last season ended for the Mets, I’m trying to stay cautiously optimistic about 2016. Was getting to the World Series a fluke? Do the Mets have a chance to win a championship this year? I put $20 on them (at 12:1 odds) the last time I was in Vegas…but I was drinking very heavily at the time. Clearly I was feeling confident. In reality? I don’t know, I could see the team finishing an incredibly disappointing 85-77 and missing the playoffs all together. Wouldn’t that be the most Mets thing ever?

I have nothing new and exciting to report this week. No concerts to review, no boasting about fancy meals, not even a hot new beer to report. I’m really not looking forward to taking my car into the shop on Wednesday. I’d rather it not break down on the side of the road in the Mojave Desert when I head out to Vegas in a couple weeks. Then my birthday is at the end of the month. Jesus, is this what getting older is? I complain about how much new tires, break pads, and birthday celebrations cost? Someone please tell me that 33 is a good year. That number scares me.
