It’s been a busy week. I’m relishing this opportunity to sit on my couch and shut off my brain. Other than cooking dinner I don’t intend to move from this spot for a few hours. Aside from the usual work schedule it felt like I was running all over town every day. On Wednesday I was out over by LACMA for happy hour drinks and snacks. There was a fantasy baseball draft in Echo Park and big bottle share on Friday night in Pasadena (the highlights being PseudoSue, Chocolate Rain and Parabajava). Last night was my buddy’s birthday dinner at Raku followed by drinks at the Roger Room. The custom tasting menu they made for us last night at Raku might have pushed that place past Cassia for my favorite new restaurant in LA. It’s a bit on the expensive side – which I’m sure nobody minded because it was a birthday - but the quality of the food they’re putting out is quite remarkable.
