Sorry it’s been a while. Apparently this site got hacked, although since I have no readers I doubt any of you noticed. After receiving an e-mail from my hosting service that there was a malicious file uploaded to my server I had to spend maybe twenty minutes fixing the problem. This is after a day or two of drunkenly ignoring the e-mail and debating whether or not it was a hoax. Safe to say passwords have been changed, and according to the service’s last scan this page is now free of any evil files or scripts.
In other news…well, there isn’t much news to report here. March is hopefully going to be calm because April will likely be the busiest month of the year for me. My sister is coming to town for five days, after a one-day break I have to go to Vegas for a convention, the following week is my birthday and then three days later I fly back east for a week. No, there will not be an epic drinking marathon at Ginger Man this year. Sorry friends. I know you’ve all come to anticipate my sister and I footing those massive bar tabs while you hang out and drink all night, but that ship has officially sailed. I can’t fuck around like a wannabe rich kid anymore. My cost of living increased exponentially after I moved out of Echo Park.
I’ve been selling a decent amount of Todd records in the past few weeks, and there’s a distributor out of Brooklyn who just requested a bunch of copies, so apparently dropping the price from $16 PPD to $13 PPD has helped a bit. If you don’t have a copy yet, I still have a few clear ones left and a bunch of black vinyl (some of which have the signed inserts). Consider ordering one, would ya? I hear vinyl is making a comeback. SL002 is coming along. It’s a slow process and it’s going to get a whole lot slower when the time comes to construct all the covers by hand. I’m not looking forward to that part of the process but hopefully you’ll appreciate all the time and effort going into this one.
Oh! And lastly, a request. One of the former members of the band TABLE recently e-mailed me to see if I still had a copy of the Live On WNUR show I posted a few years ago. Sadly, I do not. If any of you downloaded and saved that file, PLEASE contact me so I can forward the MP3s on to him. Thank you!
RULES for uninitiated noobs: I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. Of course there is a very subtle theme this week. Pretty obvious, isn’t it? The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
