Boy it’s been a while since I’ve posted one of these! What’s it been, three weeks? That’s insane! I know this is the reason 90% of you come here, so I apologize for keeping you in suspense, but hopefully the variety of tunes included in this week’s mix will make up for the fact that it’s been a while since the last one.
The Todd record continues to sell through various channels and I’ve been happily seeing orders via Discogs, eBay and retail stores. 20 copies disappeared via the WFMU Record Fair, and a couple NYC stores (Human Head is one) are now stocking them as well. Hopefully they’ll be some big news coming soon about new avenues through which you can procure a copy. There have been a couple more digital and physical sales through the Swan Fungus Bandcamp page as well, which is nice to see. If you haven’t already, you should pick up a copy of the record. Support Todd, support this website, and grab a unique (and limited!) “real people” music artifact at the same time. Don’t have a turntable? The digital release is just $4. That’s, like, 50 cents per song. You can afford it, trust me.
RULES for uninitiated noobs: I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. This week’s mix is comprised of songs off my old NJ computer’s hard drive, which I had to clone because it’s getting old and I didn’t want to lose all the music it contained. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
