It sure has been a busy week, hasn’t it? The Todd record went on sale Wednesday and I’ve spent every day since then either driving around town or mailing orders. I expected a difficult first week, as I’m doing this entirely single-handedly, but so far I’m satisfied with the results. People seem happy, a store contacted me to tell me they’ve already sold out and wanted to re-up their order, and web sales have been trickling in, which is shocking considering how pathetic my “simple” shopping cart is. There have been some digital and physical sales through the new Swan Fungus Bandcamp page as well, which is nice to see. If you haven’t already, you should pick up a copy of the record. Support Todd, support this website, and grab a unique (and limited!) “real people” music artifact while you’re at it.
By the way, literally every order that’s been placed since Wednesday has shipped. I’m doing my best to update each one with tracking info, so keep an eye out for those e-mails. Also, every LP mailer includes a free-hand attempt to recreate the official Swan Fungus logo. Which, honestly, is my favorite part of packing up all the boxes. I’m such a fucking awful artist, some of the results are truly horrifying. I can’t draw for shit.
And now, mix tape:
RULES for uninitiated noobs: I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. This week there’s a kind of a “Summer’s ending!” theme. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
