I’m exhausted. I don’t know why I continue to keep myself up so late early in my work-week. Time and time again, I’ll make plans when I know I should stay in and relax. And, sure, maybe last night was just a couple games of Jenga, and Catchphrase, and three or four beers…but that shit compounds after a while. A man needs his sleep, y’know?
I’m looking forward to a relaxing week. I picked up a gig editing/proofreading a 900-page book recently and I’m hoping to devote the net week to it. And then I’ll take my the paycheck and immediately book it for Vegas. Because why not?
Tonight I’m cooking dinner for the roommates before Breaking Bad. So I’ve got to devote myself to that instead of this week’s mix tape. Alas, here’s ten songs for you. Nine pop/rock tunes and then that fucking incredible opener from “Sketches Of Spain” that reminds me of being on a horse ranch in the middle of nowhere in the Poconos smoking hash and enjoying life.
RULES for uninitiated noobs: I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. I think I just mentioned this week’s theme, kind of, it’s more pop/rock songs building up to the 16-minute Miles jam. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
