Scenes From NAB 2012

You'd be surprised how much respect one receives after they transition from (whatever your occupation currently is) to "Owner".

MONO = ONERAIL = RAIL

The Convention Center, South Hall, as seen from the platform exiting the Vegas monorail.

Ken and KT provided motion graphics for a recent teaser for this company own by a friend, and Tom directed their trailer. A lot of gear fetishists were snapping photos of this dolly.

One of the better presentations at the show was Andrew Kramer, who spoke for Adobe. He's designed main titles for "Fringe", "Person Of Interest", "Star Trek" and "Super 8".

South Hall probably had the most interesting and diverse vendors, including Adobe, Autodesk, Red Digital Cameras, and more.

My interest in color correction made for plenty of stops at demos such as this one. See that desk? It'll only set you back about $30,000.

This is a pretty cool 3D camera. And if you look at the screen at the top left corner, you can see me. Taking a picture of me in 3D. I am so, so self-absorbed...

At the Wacom stall. I spent a few minutes fixing the blemishes on this girl's face and taking the red out of her eyes, then some asshole couldn't resist doodling on her.

Does Any company manufacture better lenses than Leica? Who would win in a fight, a Leica lens or God? Trick question. Leica is God.

There were lots of cool broadcast trucks available both in and outside the convention center one could explore. The 3D mobile truck for ESPN was definitely the highlight for me. Amazing stuff. I'll write more about it tomorrow.
