Hello, friends. I hope your weekends were eventful and fun. Mine was the exact opposite. I caught a cold for the first time in almost a year (see what happens when i stop running four days a week and eating healthy?), so I stayed in and recuperated. This led to watching a number of movies and listening to a ton of records I’ve been meaning to file away on my shelves. Super was good. Children Of The Corn was worse than I remembered. The special edition of Oldboy with the bonus documentaries was pretty cool. The Takashi Miike banned episode of Masters Of Horror was brutal!
As for the music, the new White Hills Record, called Frying On This Rock was great. The self-titled Purling Hiss album on Permanent was solid. The Swirlies 7″s and Jesus Lizard Peel Sessions bootleg were pretty good, too.
I’ve got nothing else to say to you now. So I’m going to go and leave you to your mix tape. Enjoy!
RULES for uninitiated noobs: I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. There is no theme this week. I was just cleaning out one hard drive and transferring music to a larger hard drive, so this was stuff that got moved from one storage space to the next. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
