What a weekend.
Just think, a week from today I’ll either be living the high life — on cloud nine — sharing a mix tape in celebration of the New York Giants winning the Super Bowl, or I’ll be the brunt of every joke made by my six Boston-native roommates if the Patriots win. I’m excited and petrified in equal measure. It’s going to be a wild Sunday at my house next week. Speaking of which, if you’re in Los Angeles and you like the New York Giants — and you want to drink and grill with your favorite blogger — get in touch. Come over and watch the game. I can use all the New York support I can get.
In other me-related news, I’ve eaten horribly and consumed such vast quantities of booze for the past two weeks I’ve made the irrational last-minute decision to follow a meat-free diet for the next week. So if any of you idiots know how to rub two sticks together and turn it into a meal, e-mail me your favorite vegetarian or vegan recipe. Yes, I’m well aware of how “totally LA” this decision is. I’m fine with it. Plus, it’ll make Super Sunday so much better if I have a meat feast to look forward to. By the way, stay tuned for my review of Michael Voltaggio’s new restaurant ink. tomorrow. I gorged myself there on Friday night with Louise and have a lot to say about the experience.
Until then, here’s a mix tape. Love it, or don’t. I’m gonna go give this Moneyball movie a shot. If it’s nominated for all those Oscars it has to be good, right!?
Just kidding. It’ll probably suck! They didn’t even get the rights to call Paul “D3PO” DePodesta by his real name!
RULES for uninitiated noobs: I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. No theme this week. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
