Der Blutharsch – The Track Of The Hunted

From Wikipedia:

Der Blutharsch (“blood-iced snow” or, in old German, “coagulated blood” — but really a reference to a Swiss mercenary company circa 1600 AD) is the primary musical project of Austrian musician Albin Julius.

Originally a side project to The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath A Cloud, Julius’ first release as Der Blutharsch was a self-titled picture disc (1996), limited to 250 copies. Early Der Blutharsch recorded material was very dark ambient in sound, heavy on historic samples and post-industrial melodic drones. As the discography progressed, the material became more lively, with a more bombastic approach and a focus on a form of martial industrial music with emphasis on neoclassical instrumentation combined with experimentalism. The subject matter and imagery largely was derived from historical topics relating to the history of Germanic Europe.

Despite his repeated claims to the contrary, Julius’ opponents have sometimes labeled his work as fascist. This conclusion is generally reached due to Julius’ use of aesthetics that may appear fascistic and his additional use of military-related themes and aesthetics, including Third Reich-era material, in the composition of his works. Der Blutharsch however released a 7″ single with the Italian fascist band Zetazeroalfa, but worked as well with the anarchist left-wing band Terroritmo.
