So much has been written in these archives about my adoration (respect? love?) for the Mystery Sea label. I’m fascinated by the objective: “a small-scale independent exploring unit devoted to release limited edition works of 100 copies in CD-R format only — a vehicle for revealing highly immersive music, soundmantras making us connect with our innermost selves and get in touch with an evanescent reality far beyond words.”
I stumbled upon Mystery Sea when I first obtained this release by Aidan Baker, At The Fountain Of Thirst. It’s becoming impossible to track this one down. Copies routinely sell for over $50. With Aidan’s continued success releasing fantastic ambient/drone albums (have you HEARD I Will Always And Forever Hold You In My Heart And Mind!?!?), as well as his metal-ish musical output as Nadja, it’s no surprise that fans and collectors are clamoring to find a copy of this CD-R.
