Things happen quickly. Good times are had. New friends are made. Fresh experiences teach us about ourselves and the world. There’s always that one person who wants to drag you out of the present and into the past. Don’t bother. It’s not worth the effort. Just keep rolling. But remind yourself to take a moment and slow down. Enjoy it. Smile. Sleep. Take care of yourself, but also…take care of yourself. You know?
That’s what was on my mind when I compiled this week’s mix tape. Hopefully aspects of it come across in these songs. I was definitely trying to build a mood. Perhaps unsuccessfully. You be the judge. I’ll be the stenographer. We’ll meet in chambers while the jury deliberates and drink ourselves sick together. Then we’ll hug it out and catch the end of the ballgame at the sports bar down the street.
