Apologies for the late post. It’s already early Monday morning (as in, past midnight) and I have been busy from the moment I awoke Sunday morning. This is the first chance I’ve had to sit down and focus at all on a blog post. Lucky for me I can compile a Sunday Mix Tape relatively quickly and still get to bed at a reasonable hour. There’s almost no thought involved.
A new reader/friend commented the other day that I have a “keen sense of music,” so I decided to try my hardest to share as many new artists in this Mix Tape as possible. Why? Because I love having my ego inflated, and because I like to challenge myself to find new songs or bands that I haven’t already talked to death. So when I say new, I mean they are not ultra-modern bands, but ones who have not been featured on this website before. I hope you enjoy the tunes!
RULES for uninitiated noobs: With roughly 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. See above for this week’s theme. I’m pretty sure the only repeat artists on this Mix Tape are The Holy See, MX-80 Sound, Six Organs of Admittance, Michael Giacchino and Theta Naught. The Six Organs track is from a new album, though, and the others haven’t been featured for a long time. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
