In case you’ve forgotten, today is the longest day of the year. That doesn’t mean it just feels like the longest day of the year, but that it is the day with the most hours/minutes of sunlight. Plus, doesn’t every single day feel like the longest day ever to you? Well, it does to me.
Nicci and I dined at the Mission Cantina on Sunset late last night, and let me tell you — their menu is awesome. It’s small, since the setting is more pub-like than restaurant-like, but the food was ridiculously good. I’ll review it in the next day or two, or whenever Nicci gets around to sending me pictures of our meal. Funny how when she wants her Facebook profile photo updated it’s done in a matter of hours, but if poor little camera-less Evan needs photos for a blog post, he’ll just have to wait a few days!

RULES for uninitiated noobs: With roughly 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. Since this is the longest day of the year, I figured why not make this the longest mix of the year? Only fourteen tracks, but they average somewhere near 10 minutes in length. The closing track, the epic Ghosting tune “Why Not Be Utterly Changed Into Fire?” from the album of same name, is the entire album. 1 track! It’s so much easier to tack it onto the end of a mix than devote an entire Collector’s Slum entry to it. I love Ghosting. You should too. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
