My computer goes under the knife today. We should see some interesting posts in the next few days. Wish us all “good luck,” and if you’re reading this post and you’re a person who committed to penning an entry for me, GET TO WORK!
Tonight being LOST night, I thought I would share this little list with you. See, Nate challenged me last week to think of 24 unanswered questions that still require attention from the show before the series finale next season. I told him I could think of more. I e-mailed friends asking for their advice, but only one offered me some questions, one of which was:
“Desmond told Charlie that if he died, he saw a vision of Claire getting on a helicopter. Well, Charlie died and Claire didn’t get on no helicopter. Did Desmond just want Charlie to die so he could bone Claire? (OMG! the word “Charlie” uses the same letters as “Claire” with only an “h” added. The letter “h” is the eighth letter in the alphabet. (8×13)+(8/2)=108! “8” is also a symbol with a constant loop. Just as the show is a constant time loop. Clearly that means Aaron actually was on the plane and was transported back to the island in the ’70s, where he will grow up, leave, change his name to Charlie, and then bone his mother Claire!”
In other words, he was of no help whatsoever. Here’s my list of 31 questions.
– What exactly is the smoke monster?
– What is the Island?
– What is the DHARMA Initiative?
– Why doesn’t Richard Alpert age?
– What did Locke mean when he said Jack needed to stay on the Island?
– Why did Widmore leave the island?
– What makes Walt “different” or “special”?
– Will Miles’ abilities ever be fully explained?
– Who Is Jacob? What is Jacob?
– Where is Aaron?
– Why do they have to push the button in the Swan station?
– What is the purpose of the numbers?
– Who are Adam and Eve?
– What happened to the Black Rock and its survivors?
– What is “the sickness”?
– What’s the problem with women/babies? How did it happen?
– Why is Ben so invested in the survivors of 815?
– Where are the other children the Others took?
– Why did Ben kill Locke instead of letting him kill himself?
– How does Sun’s father fit in with DHARMA/Widmore/etc.?
– Why is Desmond special, what was it that made him see Charlie’s death? What “rules” don’t apply to him?
– Why do the Others/Hostiles hate the DHARMA Initiative?
– What is the purpose of the second island and all its stations?
– Why does the island have healing power (ie. Locke, Rose)
– Is the death of Sayid’s wife at all important? Did Ben kill her?
– Why didn’t Rousseau remember Jin? Or, did she? Do any of the people who met before the 815 crash remember meeting?
– What was the point of Jacob’s “list” of people?
– Has Christian been resurrected by the island like Locke, or are they ghosts?
– Why was Libby at the mental institution?
– What happened to the polar bears?
And lastly, a question I thought of specifically for my friend, the writer Tom Grey:
– Why did Rosseau’s husband try to kill her?
In this week’s LOST preview over at Entertainment Weekly, there is an amazing, exciting quote from Matthew Fox about the maturation of his character, Jack.
“He is fated to do something on the Island, but in fighting to get away from that, the Island was destroying him from afar. Now, he’s wide-eyed and alert and watching for his destiny. He doesn’t have any idea how he’s going to know it, or when he’s going to know it. But when the moment comes, he will realize he’s in the path of his own destiny. And when he’s clicked into it, he can start taking action without over-dictating, without trying to control his reality, to just do what it is he’s meant to do.”
I don’t know about you, but I’ve got…like…seven LOST boners right now.
