Oh man, last night was filled with good times. Nicci had a “wrap party” for a student film she acted in, and then it was our friend Thesy’s birthday. I absolutely love parties at Thesy’s mansion in the hills because it inspires me to try to meet as many people as possible. I put on superficial smiles and get really drunk and chat up as many people as possible. I especially love all the weird looking fuckers that show up. Also, I like annoying the douchey “Hollywood types” that tend to congregate in really small groups and look around at everyone else at the party self-consciously. They’re so much fun to play with…anyway, there are a ton of photos from the evening, but here are some of my favorites:
After walking into the party, I find Quiggs and Sebastian and plot the next twelve moves I would make.
This guy, Pat, was my first target. As soon as I saw him I knew we had to become best friends. The look on Tom’s face says everything. He’s trying not to laugh as I pretend to sound really interested in Pat’s entire life story. I think I love Pat.
That’s Brendan. We met at the French Party. He plays in a band called Young Dubliners. Irish or something. He’s a stand-up guy. Not one of those phonies. Put he and Nate and I together and we’ll cut up any room.
Nicci says, “show me… LOST!” and these are our resultant expressions.
Cute blonde girl announces she’s leaving and Nate says, “I need to crash and burn with her.” So we stop her on her way to the door and ask what’s up. She says she’s going home and I blurt out, “Take Nate with you!” Commence crash in 3…2…
Nate stopped this girl on her way home too, but apparently Nicci and I blew it for him…somehow. I still don’t quite understand it, but he’s got some secret language where he says something random and we’re supposed to understand it to mean, “Keep this girl here so I can talk to her more.” Oops.
How about a mix tape?
RULES for uninitiated noobs: With roughly 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. This one needs to be listened to from start to finish. It’s way out there, but kind of mind blowing, too. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
