The early Jackie-O Motherfucker albums have been described by some as a “schizophrenic” mix of psychedelic guitar, country slide guitar and free-jazz improvisation, “as if Jimi Hendrix played Hank Williams backed by the Swell Maps.” I’ve already posted a few JOMF records for your listening pleasure (you can still download Live In Europe 2002 here, and three other releases here), but today I’m sharing the band’s first release, Alchemy…Shit To Gold. Originally released in an edition of 500 by Imp Records in 1995, this is where it all began.
