Nicci’s workplace had their annual Christmas Party at Malo tonight, which meant a couple hours of heavenly eating and drinking. Right now I am full of carnitas, potato and eggplant tacos, beef and pickle tacos and chicken/chorizo quesadillas. I could not be happier. If that restaurant wasn’t so expensive (or maybe if I had a better-paying job?) I would eat there every night. Well, not every night — I’d need to eat at Qdoba and Casa Bianca and Patra, too!
Hey, how about a mix tape?
RULES for uninitiated noobs: With roughly 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. This week I am continuing to use songs from my Top 100 Albums of 2008 list. Circle, Colour Haze, Ufomammut, Jasper TX, Bardo Pond, Conifer, Aidan Baker/Tim Hecker, Mogwai, Suishou No Fune, and Ignatz all released great albums this year. The rest are, like, really good filler material! And, as Sam so diligently pointed out, the Wolves In The Throne Room record actually came out in 2007, not 2008! Oops! As always, these songs will be removed if desired by the band or those who represent them. Let me know and I will gladly comply. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
