Harvey Milk – Bob Weston Sessions

To be honest, I don’t know much about this, but I know it’s Harvey Milk’s unreleased debut album, which was recorded by Bob Weston in Chicago during the early ’90s. The label that was supposed to release it, 227 Records, never did. No one seems to know why. I’d ask the band myself, but I put in an interview request a few weeks ago and never received a response. Oh well! Most of the tracks showed up on later releases, and versions of “Blueberry Dookie” and “Smile” actually pre-dated this session, as they were released on a split with Hayride in ’93. If you don’t know and love Harvey Milk already, you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s the dirgiest, most-wonderfully painful rock music I’ve heard in years. Such a great, heavy sound. They sound like nobody else, and probably will never see another band compared to their sound. They’re that special.
