Hello beautiful friends. I trust gravity is not keeping you down on this beautiful Sunday, is it? Unless of course, you’re living in Vermont, where temperatures are starting to drop already. After a miserable, rainy Friday night, the rest of the weekend has been beautiful. And how did I spend my time, you ask? Why, getting drunk on Stone Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale and Port Brewing Wipe Out IPA of course! Today I joined a local bird-watching group for a picnic and some vino in the park. Then shared tasty nachos with Sari. Tonight I went over to Nick and Lauren’s for a beer and for…Pants-Off Dance-Off.
Are you ready for another installment of the Sunday Mix Tape? Me neither.
RULES for uninitiated noobs: With 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. Last week I promised the best mix of 2007, and I feel like I’ve failed to live up to that lofty goal. It’s good, though. I’ve listened through a few times without feeling bored. I guess once you get past the random inclusion of Jackie-O Motherfucker, Es, and Xela, the theme would be something like: cold shoulders, lovers’ dances, the weight of desire, drawn-out embraces, and restrained smiles. Though, I suppose you’re more than capable of making your own conclusions about what this particular song selection means. Also, Morita Doji sings in Japanese. This compilation marks the first appearance of one of my favorite largely-unknown bands. Chorchazade. These songs will be removed if desired by the band or those who represent them. Let me know and I will gladly comply. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums.
