I hate doctors offices. The people are always much more sick than I am, and it makes me worried that I’m going to contract whatever illness they have. Then I spend three hours in the waiting room with these people, like the kid who won’t stop vomiting mucus or the girl who turns away from me and sneezes every twenty seconds even though her germs are just being deflected in my direction by her hands. I get into the waiting room and I’m there another two or three hours. Then the doctor finally peeks his head in the door. He wants to shake my hand? Shouldn’t he be wearing gloves or something?
I leave several hours later wondering if I’m worse off than when I arrived.
RULES for uninitiated noobs: With 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. This week is a collage of sounds, some of which vary vastly in sound and structure, but seem to speak to similar ideas. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me. There are new tracks from Sightings (!), Six Organs of Admittance, Eric Malmberg and Om. It would do you well to enjoy this on a sweltering evening, but I suppose for most of you summer is very much over. These songs will be removed if desired by the band or those who represent them. Let me know and I will gladly comply. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll support the artists and buy their albums. And really, there is no reason not to. Most of these can be purchased for anywhere between fifty cents and two dollars. Unless of course, you’re afraid somebody might find it in your collection.
