In the back of the closet, a discovery is made. A vast treasure trove of old slides; photographs taken by my grandfather during the 1950s. They recall family and vacations during a vastly different era. I never met my grandfather, but I’ve always enjoyed reading his old newspaper clippings and studying old photographs. It has been said that he and I bear more than a slight physical resemblance.
We’re going to try and get these slides (and hundreds of others) converted into larger prints. At that point, I’ll try to scan some more, because when held up to the light, the majority of them are truly stunning. My scanner isn’t the world’s best, so a lot of these appear very dark. For those of you wondering who “Jeff” is, he’s my uncle.
