This evening, my humble little page had it’s 100,000th unique visitor. Just think about it: 1/10th of a million people are so tragically bored, they’re willing to suffer through my long, rambling prose. Either that or they performed a Google Image Search search for Charles Manson, and this page was the top result. (Seriously – G.I.S Charles Manson and look at the first result)
I’d like to take a quick opportunity to apologize to U.C. Berkley, Temple University, Boston College, Ohio University, and the thousands of learning institutes whose Communications and English departments have had their Google ranking eclipsed by this hideous website.
One final note, if someone out there wants to redesign this page, I’d be most appreciative. I’ve got it all planned out, I just don’t know how to execute it. E-mail me or leave a comment with your contact info. Thanks!
RULES for the uninitiated noobs: I’ve got 100MB of webspace, and every week I birth a new compilation for your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is pushing on you these days. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I’ll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) to see what sticks. This week I’ve managed to mix cuts from new releases (Calla, The Fall, Deerhoof, Marissa Nadler) with more obscure gems from my collection (Derek Bailey & Ruins, Coptic Light, Nurse With Wound). In between are artists who haven’t been featured on a tape as of yet. Except Kraftwerk. No matter how many times I promise to use new material, I can’t forget about Kraftwerk. These songs will be removed if desired by the band or those who represent them. Let me know and I will gladly comply. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll buy their albums.
