Although it would appear this post is being published Friday, it’s actually about midnight as I write this. I didn’t want to skip an update, but I’m going to be supremely busy today running around the city, and wouldn’t have any time to create a new entry. Why am I so harried, you ask?
Well, I’ve got to get up early to go about some errands, and then I’m driving into the city to meet Ian at his place. We’re gonna head over to the WFMU Record Fair (like a bunch of nerds) and attend the early session from 4-7pm (like a bunch of nerds). This, of course, is because the evening session coincides with not one, but two CMJ showcases I want to see. The first is the wonderful CALL ME LIGHTNING, who were introduced to me by Jet quite some time ago. They’re going to be opening the French Kiss Records showcase at Piano’s ’round 8pm. Afterwards, it’ll be a subway or taxi ride downtown to the Knitting Factory, where BEAR CLAW will be making their second ever New York appearance as part of the Sick Room Records showcase. Foolishly, I told the band that their drinks are on me. I wonder if they’ll accept “…just kidding?” as an excuse why I can’t own up to my claim.
