If you’re anything like me (and if you’re not, I pity you), you listen to an inordinate amount of music. Whenever I’m doing anything that involves a computer I’m also actively seeking out new music. Sometimes I find really ugly sounding things – not like Wolf Eyes ugly – which just make me uncomfortable. So I started compiling songs that, whenever they start playing, I shudder and skip to the next track. This week’s mix tape contains seven such songs. Some are more obvious than others. See if you can figure out which songs here freeze me and force sickness to rise from my guts. I threw in some trick tunes to try and complicate the process.
If you’re new to this “Mix Tape” routine, here are the rules: I’ve got 100MB of webspace and every week I manifest a new compilation for yer iPod’s and your kingklangs or whatever you kids use to listen to music these days. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together. This week’s theme is laid out above! These songs will be removed if desired by the band or those who represent them. Let me know and I will gladly comply. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll buy their albums.
