The reports from Chicago are filtering in, and all of them seem to be incredible. Albini called it the “concert-of-the-century,” and declared Touch and Go is, “Home to about a hundred of the best bands ever. And !!!.” It must suck to be chkchkchk…
If you’re new to this routine, here’s the rules, see: I’ve got 100MB of webspace and every week I’ll make a new mix for yer iPod’s and your kingklangs or whatever you kids use to listen to music these days. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together. This week I’m trying to once again push the envelope by using bands most of you probably haven’t heard of, so make it your business to download every single track and enjoy it. I think I’m noticing that each successive weeks the songs become longer and drone more. Soon enough I’ll be putting in Bob Sturm tracks and Pelt tracks with one note for five minutes. Enjoy the occasional melody on my website while you can. These songs will be removed if desired by the band or those who represent them. Let me know and I will gladly comply. The goal of this endeavor, as always, is to pique your interest in these artists so you’ll buy their albums.
