PATTERNED

everything seems to be falling into place quite nicely for next week. i figure as long as i keep myself scheduled and know as much as possible in advance, i can relax and take everything as it comes. so yeah, all the aaa travel stuff came in the mail today. that’s a benefit of being a “plus” member. not only are all the maps free, they’ll bail you out of jail. not to mention certain hotels will give me discounts on their nightly rates.

cincinatti on the 11th is a night of exploration.

for louisville (arrive july 12, depart july 14) right now it’s looking like i’m going to interview tim furnish of crain, stephen george of the louisville eccentric observer, jk mcknight (promoter) and perhaps todd brashear if he is available. once i leave town i can do phone interviews with will chatham of crain, brashear and pajo.

in chicago (arrive july 14, depart july 17) i definitely have silkworm and quatre tete. i’m just waiting on confirmations and meeting times. also, i found out my friend jet i’m staying with is good friends with trevor from pelican, so i’ll probably meet with him saturday after their set at the intonation festival. bear claw are out of town so i’ll catch up with rich later. steve from pinebender is working with bella lea so i’m unsure if he’s available.

st. louis (arrive july 17, depart july 18) i’m meeting with christopher from the conformists for a brief chat and maybe a place to stay.

so that takes me through the first week. then i’m in oklahoma for a day before spending about a week in texas. i figure next week i’ll work on confirming more things down there. matthew barnhart from echo labs is out of town, so i’m still waiting on other folks in the dallas/austin area to get back to me.

also, jamie stewart from xiu xiu got in touch with me and he’s down for whatever as long as it’s at night when i’m near san jose. and someone from royal stable music (oldham) got in touch with me but our e-mail exchanges have been quite awkward as we’re still feeling each other out.

goodnight.
