today i actually did some work, preparing a letter to send to various musicians about my book idea, and sent the first one off into the great unknown that is cyberspace. i figure by getting some preliminary work done now, i’ll be forcing myself to push forward with the project and make sure i get it done before i succumb to laziness. the last thing i want to do is sit around dreaming about writing this book and never even getting started. since my travel plans hinge on the fact that i’m going to be writing a book about the experience, said travel plans will never be realized if i have no impetus to get going. the sooner i do my preliminary work the sooner i can hit the road.
